In Memoriam of Dr Peter Adnitt FFPM

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of long-standing FPM Fellow, Dr Peter Adnitt MD FRCP FFPM. Dr Adnitt was vice-President of FPM during the Presidency of Dr Brian Gennery, circa 2002, and will be remembered for his significant contributions to the development of FPM at this time.

 

Dr Adnitt started his career in hospital medicine, specialising in diabetes and endocrinology in Chester. In his 40s he became a medical director in the pharmaceutical industry, where he remained until retirement. He was an inspiration to his son, who became a doctor, and his daughter, who worked in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

His son David wrote an obituary that was published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ). Read it here (subscription required).
