This accessibility statement applies to our Managing Respiratory Diseases e-Learning series. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this e-Learning.
For example, that means that:
- images and interactions have alternative text descriptions;
- you can navigate most of the package using just a keyboard or speech recognition software;
- the colour contrast ratios within interactions and media have passed contract checkers;
- drag and drop interactive activities alternate to a multiple choice style if the learner selects at the start of the course that they use a screen reader;
- you can listen to most of the content using a screen reader.
We have made the e-Learning content text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this e-Learning is
We know that some of the media and content within the e-Learning is not fully accessible.
For example, this means that:
- the format and layout of the e-Learning interface does not adapt to the size of the browser window;
- the content of the e-Learning package does not use a responsive layout that adapts and resizes to the orientation (portrait / landscape) and size or the browser window – content will lock to landscape mode on mobile devices for readability purposes;
- certain media that is not essential to the understanding of the content may be hidden on smaller screen sizes to preserve space;
- you will not be able to change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device configuration settings as this is hard coded into the e-Learning package.
