Election to Fellowship (FFPM)

Eligibility for Fellowship of FPM (FFPM) is based on experience and seniority in the profession; it is not dependent on time served as a Member of FPM (MFPM). Fellowship recognises achievement at a high level in the profession and confers peer recognition.

There are two to Fellowship of the FPM:

  • Application via current Membership
  • Direct application

Applicants on both routes must include evidence of their contribution to the practice and science of pharmaceutical medicine; and their contribution, or intended contribution, to FPM or its mission.

Applications can be by nomination from a current Fellows of FPM in good standing, or by self-nomination in which case the application must be supported by a current Fellows of FPM in good standing.

Document providing detailed criteria and evidencing recommendations on how to apply will be provided on the opening date.

The Fellowship and Awards Committee meets every year in May and can only use the information submitted to make a decision, so applicants are urged to provide sufficient, relevant detail, supported where possible by examples.

You can find the annual fees for Fellowship on our Fees and Payments page. Please note: new Fellows will be charged Fellowship fees (pro-rata) from 1 July 2025.

It is based on experience and seniority in the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine and is open to those with specialty training in other disciplines and those who qualified in medicine outside the UK.
