Election to Fellowship (FFPM)

Fellowship is a recognition of achievement at a high level in the profession of pharmaceutical medicine and confers peer recognition.

It is based on experience and seniority in the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine and is open to those with specialty training in other disciplines and those who qualified in medicine outside the UK.

Applicants should not be in the phase of their career where Fellowship of FPM could be used explicitly for the purpose of advancing their careers.

Eligibility is based on experience and seniority in the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine. It is open to those with specialty training in other disciplines and those who qualified in medicine outside the UK. Fellowship is not dependent on time served as a Member (MFPM). 

There are two different routes to attain FFPM:

a. Application via current Membership (for current Members (MFPM) of FPM).

b. Direct application route (for Affiliate members, Associate members, and other pharmaceutical physicians who are not members of FPM).

Yes, Fellows of FPM in good standing (with fully paid FPM annual subscription) can nominate, please follow the right route:

• If you are nominating a Member (MFPM), please follow the Application via current Membership (MFPM) route.
• If you are nominating an affiliate member, associate member or other pharmaceutical physicians who are not members of FPM, please follow the Direct application route.

Please note that nominations from current Fellows must also include a short letter of assent from the individual being nominated confirming that a) they are aware they are being proposed for Fellowship; b) they are happy to be proposed; and c) they accept that, if the nomination is successful, they will be required to pay the Fellowship subscription fee with effect from the next applicable start date.

No, your application will not be processed until your annual subscription is paid.

Only current Fellows of FPM in good standing, with fully paid FPM annual subscription, can support self-nominations via: direct application and Membership route.

The Fellowship and Awards Committee can only use the information submitted in the application to make a decision, so applicants are urged to provide sufficient, relevant detail, supported where possible by examples. Each statement should contain minimum 250 words.

In both instances, it is expected that examples should describe sustained contributions made over a period of time, rather than one-off occurrences.

Evidence for the statement on route chosen and for the two “Contribution” statements should be clear and of substance. Please do not copy and paste material from your CV or provide links to social media profiles by way of references.

Applications where material has been pasted in from these sources, or where one or more statements is incomplete, or missing entirely, will not be passed to the Fellowship and Awards Committee for consideration.
