FPM launches FPM Develop

FPM today launches a new internship programme – FPM Develop. The programme aims to give young people in the early stages of their careers an opportunity to learn new skills in the dynamic and challenging workplace of a professional membership body, and discover the exciting world of pharmaceutical medicine.

Interns on the FPM Develop programme will receive a structured workplan that will support their development and will be closely supported by a line manager. They will set regular performance objectives and receive training and support specific to their role. They will also have opportunities to learn and support other activities taking place within the organisation. Towards the end of the period, FPM will provide interns with advice and guidance for the next stage of their career journey, and interns will have the opportunity to feed back on how they have developed and what they have learnt in a blog or short presentation.

It is expected that FPM will recruit one intern per year, cycling through the main functions of the FPM, though this may increase depending on business capacity and as we streamline our processes. FPM Develop will also support FPM’s dedication to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion by offering flexible working and paying the London living wage, and we particularly encourage applications from candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may not otherwise consider a career in the charity sector.
