Better, broader, safer: using health data for research and analysis
Professor Ben Goldacre’s review highlights that the UK’s health data assets have a unique potential to drive a new era of life sciences research, and ultimately save and improve lives.
The report sets out a range of recommendations to overcome longstanding barriers to harnessing this data As the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine we would encourage collaboration with the pharmaceutical sector, for which such health data are paramount in developing and maintaining safe and effective medicines/devices/vaccines for patients.
We will support partners and stakeholders to create the data infrastructure to make the opportunities highlighted in the Review become a reality.
