Applications are invited for a number of roles on the Board of Examiners (BoE) of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM).

Calling all Fellows and Members!

  • Are you able to work constructively with a mixed team of volunteers, staff, subject matter experts and others?
  • Are you committed to the development and promotion of the specialty of pharmaceutical medicine?
  • Are you willing and able to devote the necessary time and effort to fulfil the requirements of the role?

The Board of Examiners is responsible for the conduct of all FPM examinations, including the examinations for the Diploma and Certificate in Pharmaceutical Medicine, the Diploma and Certificate in Human Pharmacology and the Diploma in Experimental Therapeutics. The BoE is also responsible for setting and maintaining standards.

We are looking for candidates to contribute to and support the BoE’s work. Successful applicants will be recruited to join the BoE in the first instance but may be asked subsequently to fill one of a number of specific roles, among them the Examinations Secretary and Convenor / Co-convenor for the Short Answer Question (SAQ) paper.

We are also looking for candidates who would be interested in working as Item Writers to support the production of questions for the CPM/Part 1 DPM Multiple Choice examination. This is a new role with no fixed time commitment nor term requirement.

Applications are invited from Fellows (FFPM), Members (MFPM) and Members by Distinction (MFPM(Dis)) for the role. Honorary Fellows and Members are not eligible to apply.

Item Writers do not need to be members of FPM but will have successfully passed the Certificate in Pharmaceutical Medicine and/or may have passed or be working towards the Diploma.

Closing date for applications: 17:00 (UK time) on Monday 31 March 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to discuss their application with current members of the Office of the Board of Examiners (OBoE).
